Stolen design!

So I'm having an issue. Back last year I designed a pendent for a local jewellery competition. We were asked to sigh a permission slip but it was just basic, not details as they was given to the teacher to read over. So I won the one of the prizes and the owners decided to use it again. I didn't even get any credit and I feel like I was just used. Everyone thinks I should be proud but why if no one but me know's I designed it? They even said they designed it before me.
